According to the World Bank, the "amplified voice and agency of women and girls can yield broad development dividends for them, their families, communities, and societies" The United Nations echoes this sentiment, highlighting the critical role of girls' education and leadership in achieving gender equality, a core component of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
Despite notable progress in Ghana, gender disparities persist, particularly in leadership positions. This National Girls' Leadership Excellence Summit (NGLES) aims to address this gap by inspiring and equipping senior high school girls in leadership positions with the skills, confidence, and networks they need to excel and become effective change leaders.

Objectives
Empower 300 girls’ prefects from Senior High schools in the 16 regions to become leaders and global change agents.
Create a supportive network of girls and mentors.
Build capacity for participating girls in critical thinking, problem-solving, negotiation and communication skills.
Provide a platform for girls to share experiences and ideas to promote peer-to-peer teaching and learning.

Date: 11-12 September 2024.
Duration: 2 days.
Location: Achimota School, Accra (To be confirmed by the Committee).
Participants: 300 girls’ prefects from senior high school (ages 15-18) from all 16 regions.
Facilitators: Expert trainers, mentors, and role models.
Partnerships and Collaborations
We seek partnerships with educational institutions, corporations, Diplomatic Missions and NGOs to broaden the reach and impact of the summit into African in the next 5 Years. Collaborations may include sponsorship opportunities, speaker engagements, and resource sharing.
