GEM conducts monthly outreach programs dubbed: “Inspiration on Wheels” to selected High Schools to interact with girls on carefully selected topics..

The GEM Project Model

The TEN Core Modules below are general guidelines for the preparation of talking points and presentations during our ‘Inspiration On Wheels’ monthly visits to Senior High Schools. The modules were developed based on evidence gathered through a needs assessment survey conducted at previous outreach programs. It is therefore important GEM Coaches focus on the core modules to address the needs of the target girls.

THE ROLE OF A GEM COACH/SPEAKER/PRESENTER

As a GEM Coach, you are requested to study the core module of choice and research further on subject areas under the core module and prepare for presentations.

As a GEM Coach is it imperative to read and prepare extensively to enable you to deliver precise and relevant information to the girls.

As a GEM Coach, you MUST develop and consciously nurture an OPEN, LIBERAL AND NON-JUDGEMENTAL attitude and an intense listening skills required for the effective management of the Break-Out Sessions.

PRESENTATION METHODS

Practical presentations should be interactive, more engaging and based on relatable life experiences.

Break-out session environment should be warm, open, embracing and non-judgmental.

Post-outreach Mentoring Sessions with professionals must be comfortable for the Girls.

Thematic Breakout sessions are required when there is enough time.

Project delivery - Tasks assigned for each group or Individual after a session at a school.
